Waldemar Siwiński awarded the title of Honorary Golden Engineer 2018

Golden Engineer titles were awarded on February 28 in the headquarters of the Polish Federation of Engineering Associations-NOT. We are pleased to inform that the president of the Education Foundation "Perspektywy" Waldemar Siwiński was awarded the title of Honorary Golden Engineer 2018.

"Stars of Internationalization 2018" awarded

On January 29, the winners of the first edition of the Academic Internationalization Star / Internationalization Stars were awarded. The mission of the Award is to promote people with outstanding achievements in the internationalization of Polish universities. The award is granted jointly by Polish institutions and organizations involved in supporting the internationalization of Polish universities.

The best foreign students in Poland are awarded

Aigerim Balkhashbayeva from Kazakhstan (SWPS University), Safoura Reza from Afghanistan / France (Wrocław University of Environmental and Life Sciences), Włodzimierz Lewoniewski from Belarus (Poznan University of Economics), Justyna Pordzik from Germany (Warsaw Medical University), Snehalbhai Patel from India (Silesian University of Technology) ) and Yasser Faraj from Saudi Arabia (Medical University of Silesia) are the winners of the eighth edition of the Competition for the Best Foreign Student in Poland INTERSTUDENT. The ceremony of awarding the prizes took place on January 29 during the evening gala as part of the conference "Foreign students in Poland 2018", which took place at the Silesian University of Technology in Gliwice.

Waldemar Siwinski became Doctor honoris causa of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute

On October 2, 2017 Waldemar Siwinski, President of Education Foundation Perspektywy, was honored a degree honoris causa. The official ceremony took place at Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute. The Doctorate honoris causa was awarded to Mr. Siwinski in recognition of his career in the academic and scientific fields, and of his special link with the Kyiv Polytechnic Institute.

Polish universities in the world perspective - good starting positions

Research universities, initiatives of excellence, international and national rankings, accreditations, innovativeness of higher education were the most important topics of the the second conference "Polish universities in the global perspective - Rankings and strategic management of a university ", held on November 27-28 in Warsaw. Over 160 participants from Poland and abroad took part in it. The honorary patronage over the conference, organized jointly by Conference of Rectors of Academic Schools in Poland (CRASP), Polish Accreditation Committee (PKA) and Perspektywy Education Foundation, was taken by Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Science and Higher Education Jarosław Gowin.

Foreign students in Poland 2017

There are 65 793 foreign students from 166 countries studying in Poland, over 8,500 more than a year ago (15% increase). Since 2005, Polish universities have consistently increased their numbers. Foreign students currently make up 4.88% of the total number of students in the country (eight years ago the figure was only 0.61%, in the academic year 2015/2016 - 4.07%). The influence on the growing number of foreigners at Polish universities is, among others, active participation in the "Study in Poland" program, other activities at the central level and marketing activities of universities.

Perspektywy University Ranking 2017

University of Warsaw and Jagiellonian University in Krakow are the winners in the Perspektywy University Ranking 2017. They took ex-equo the first place in the ranking. Warsaw University of Technology is the third. Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań and Wrocław University of Technology were ex-equo fourth. Amog the private schools Kozminski University defended the title of the best private university in Poland, SWPS University of Social Sciences was second and Lazarski University was third.

Ranking by subjects were published covering 68 main fields of studies in 8 areas from administration to management, These rankings are of particular importance for the candidates for students as they allow to compare not just universities but also learn where the subject of choice is taught on the highest level.

Ranking of Engineering Studies Perspektywy 2017

Deans of the best departments of engineering and technology in Poland.

 Ranking of Engineering Studies Perspektywy 2017 presents best engineering universities in Poland that bestow the titles of engineer and master of science in engineering. 21 most popular technical disciplines were evaluated. The ranking presents 311 best programs of studies conducted at 288 faculties in 26 Polish academic institutions.

The leaders in the ranking are: Warsaw University of Technology (13 best programs), AGH University of Science and Technology (3 best programs), Wrocław Universisty of Technology (3 best programs) and the Silesian University of Technology (2 best programs).

We are choosing the best foreign student in Poland in 2017!

Students from India, Ukraine, Sweden, Ethiopia, Morocco, Lithuania, Albania, Ghana, Canada, Malaysia, Turkey, Iran, Mali, Kazakhstan and the Netherlands were among the nominees for the award INTERSTUDENT 2017. The winners - the best foreign students studying in Polish universities - will be announced on 27th February. For the third time, the winner of the Most Popular Foreign Student in Poland will be selected in an open internet vote.

Ranking conference in Warsaw

Polish universities feel, they deserve a better place in international rankings. To discuss what can and should be done to improve the quality of research, rectors of best universities in the country gathered 1-2 December in Warsaw at the conference “Polish Universities in International Perspective – Rankings and Strategic Management of University” organized by Perspektywy Education Foundation jointly with the Conference of Rectors (CRASP) and Polish Accreditation Commission (PAC). Jarosław Gowin, minister of science and higher education addressed the conference and took part in the discussions chaired by Jan Szmidt, Rector of Warsaw University of Technology and President of CRASP, Wojciech Nowak, Rector of Jagiellonian University, Marcin Pałys, Rector of University of Warsaw and Waldemar Siwinski, President of Perspektywy.

The international perspective on the position of Polish universities in rankings presented representatives of the major global rankings: Ben Sowter of QS, Billy Wong ofTimes Higher Education, Isidro Aguillo of Webometrics and Perit Cakir of University Ranking of Academic Performance (URAP). Sabine Behrenbeck of the German Council of Science and Humanities and Victor Koksharov, Rector of Ural Federal University and Isak Froumin of the Higher School of Economics in Moscow shared with the Polish academic audience the neighboring countries experience in the implementation of the Excellence Initiatives.
